1. Surface Preparation

Cement-Based Substrates

Surfaces must be sound, level, clean, and free of dust and contaminants.

Areas requiring repair should be repaired with INNO-CRETE Series repair mortars at least one day before application.

If the surface temperature exceeds +25°C, lightly dampen the substrate before application.

Other Substrates

Highly absorbent substrates such as:

  • Aerated concrete
  • Gypsum plaster
  • Chipboard
  • Gypsum board
  • Lime plaster

should first be primed with FOX PRIMERA® FL220, diluted 1:1 with water.

Bonding should begin at least 8 hours after primer application.

2. Mixing

Pour the recommended amount of clean water into a suitable mixing container.

Gradually add FOX CERAPOL® FX111 FLEX while mixing with a drill mixer operating at 400–600 rpm for approximately 3–4 minutes until a smooth, lump-free consistency is achieved.

Allow the mixture to rest for 3 minutes, then remix for 1 minute before use.

Mixing Ratios

25 kg Grey:

  • 7.50 ±0.25 L water

1 kg Grey:

  • 300 ±10 ml water

25 kg White:

  • 7.75 ±0.25 L water

1 kg White:

  • 310 ±10 ml water

3. Application

Apply a thin layer (approximately 1 mm) of FOX CERAPOL® FX111 FLEX using the flat side of the trowel.

Within the 30-minute open time, comb the adhesive with the notched side of the trowel in one direction to achieve an even adhesive bed.

For tiles with varying thicknesses, it is recommended to apply approximately 1 mm of adhesive to the back of each tile to compensate for surface irregularities.

Tiles should be pressed and slightly slid into the adhesive to ensure full contact.

Leave the recommended grout joints according to the tile dimensions.

Use INNO-FIX Series grouts for joint filling approximately 24 hours after installation.

4. Open Time Test

Check the adhesive using the finger test:

  • If the adhesive sticks to the finger, installation can continue.
  • If it does not stick, the open time has expired. Remove the adhesive and apply fresh mortar.

5. Cleaning of Tools

Clean all tools and equipment immediately with water after use.

Once hardened, FOX CERAPOL® FX111 FLEX can only be removed mechanically.

6. Consumption

Depending on the notch size of the trowel used, consumption is approximately:

3.5–8 kg/m²

Important Notes

  • Do not apply when ambient or substrate temperatures are below +5°C or above +30°C.
  • Avoid application during extremely hot, rainy, or windy weather.
  • Exterior applications should be protected from sunlight, rain, wind, and frost for the first 24 hours.
  • Working and curing times vary depending on ambient temperature, humidity, and substrate temperature.
  • Higher temperatures accelerate hydration and shorten working time, while lower temperatures extend it.
  • During curing, the substrate and ambient temperatures must not fall below the minimum recommended application temperature.
