FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 | C2TES1 Flexible Tile and Ceramic Adhesive
FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 Flexible Adhesive Mortar
FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 is a long-lasting flexible (flex) adhesive mortar with a cement and polymer-based structure, reduced slip properties, extended open time, and high bonding performance. It can be used for horizontal and vertical applications in both indoor and outdoor areas.
It is suitable for bonding covering materials such as ceramic tiles, tiles, porcelain ceramics, and natural stone.
According to the TS EN 12004-1:2017 standard, the product meets the requirements of the C2TES1 classification:
- C2: Cement-based adhesive with improved additional properties and high performance
- T: Reduced slip properties
- E: Extended open time
- S1: Flexible
Where Is FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 Used?
FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 is suitable for the following applications:
- Horizontal and vertical applications in indoor and outdoor areas
- All types of concrete, screed, plaster, and cement-based surfaces
- Bonding tiles, ceramics, porcelain ceramics, and natural stone over waterproofing layers in wet areas such as bathrooms, balconies, and kitchens
- Tile-on-tile applications during renovation and repair works
- Bonding applications in swimming pools, Turkish baths, water tanks, bathrooms, industrial floors, and cold storage facilities
Surface Preparation
Cement-Based Surfaces
Application surfaces must be strong, clean, free from dust and dirt, and properly leveled.
Areas requiring repair should be restored with INNO-CRETE series repair mortars at least 1 day before application.
If the surface temperature is above +25°C, the surface should be slightly moistened before application.
Other Surfaces
For highly absorbent surfaces such as aerated concrete, gypsum plaster, chipboard, gypsum board, and lime plaster, FOX PRIMERA® FL220 primer should be diluted with water at a 1:1 ratio and applied before bonding.
The bonding process should begin at least 8 hours after primer application.
Wood Chip-Based Surfaces (OSB and Chipboards)
- Wood chipboards must contain a maximum of 10% moisture.
- For floor applications, the minimum thickness should be 25 mm; for wall applications, the minimum thickness should be 19 mm.
- Boards must be fixed to the surface with screws at 30 cm intervals.
- Edge joints must have a minimum width of 8 mm.
- Joint areas should be filled with FOX PURSEAL PS600 (Polyurethane Sealant) while leaving sufficient joint gaps.
- In dry areas, surfaces should be primed with FOX UNIPRIMER FL555 or FOX STUCPRIMER FL888.
Mixing
The required amount of clean water specified on the packaging should be poured into a clean container.
FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 should be gradually added into the water and mixed at 400–600 rpm for 2–3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. No lumps should remain.
After resting the mixture for 3–5 minutes, it should be mixed again for 1 minute before application.
Mixing Ratios:
For 25 kg grey product:
- 7.75 ±0.25 liters of water
For 1 kg grey product:
For 25 kg white product:
- 8.25 ±0.25 liters of water

Application Method
Apply approximately a 1 mm thick layer of FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 onto the surface using the flat side of the trowel.
Within the 30-minute open time, spread the adhesive over the area that can be covered using a notched trowel in a single direction to achieve a uniform thickness.
For ceramic applications with different thicknesses, it is recommended to apply approximately a 1 mm thick layer of FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 to the back of each ceramic piece to compensate for surface irregularities.
Covering materials should be placed by floating them into the mortar to ensure complete contact with the adhesive. The application should be completed by leaving appropriate joint gaps according to the ceramic size.
INNO-FIX series grouts should be used for filling the joint gaps. Grouting can be performed approximately 24 hours after application.
Applicability Test
To check the open time after applying the adhesive:
- If the adhesive sticks to the finger, application can continue.
- If the adhesive does not stick, the open time has expired. The surface should be scraped and fresh adhesive should be applied.
Cleaning of Application Tools
Tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately after application with water.
Once FOX CERAFLEX® FX114 has hardened, it can only be removed mechanically.
Consumption
Consumption varies depending on the tooth thickness of the ceramic trowel used and is approximately:
3.5–8 kg/m²
