FOX CERA® FX105 – Cement-Based Tile and Ceramic Adhesive
Product Description
FOX CERA® FX105 is a high-stability cement-based tile and ceramic adhesive developed for horizontal applications only in both indoor and outdoor areas.
According to the TS EN 12004-1:2017 standard, it is classified as:
C1 Class: Normal-setting cement-based adhesive
It provides an economical and practical solution for small and medium-sized ceramic and tile coverings.
Application Areas
- Horizontal applications in indoor and outdoor environments
- Concrete, screed, plaster, and cement-based surfaces
- Small and medium-sized ceramic and tile coverings with water absorption rates above 3%
- Coverings with maximum dimensions of 33 × 33 cm
Surface Preparation
- Cement-based surfaces must be strong, clean, free from dust and dirt, and properly leveled.
- Areas requiring repair should be restored with the INNO-CRETE series at least 1 day before application.
- If the surface temperature is above +25°C, it should be slightly moistened before application.
Mixing
- The specified amount of clean water indicated on the packaging should be poured into a clean container.
- FOX CERA® FX105 powder should be gradually added into the water and mixed for 3–4 minutes using a mixer operating at 400–600 rpm.
- After allowing the mixture to rest for 3 minutes, it should be mixed again for 1 minute before use.
Mixing Ratios:
- 25 kg: 6.00 ±0.25 L water
- 1 kg: 240 ±10 ml water
Application Method
- Apply approximately a 1 mm thick layer onto the surface using the flat side of the trowel.
- The open time is 20 minutes; use a notched trowel to achieve a uniform thickness.
- For ceramic materials with different thicknesses, approximately 1 mm adhesive should also be applied to the back surface of each material.
- Covering materials should be placed so that they have complete contact with the adhesive.
- Proper joint spacing should be maintained during application.
- Grouting can be performed approximately 24 hours later using the INNO-FIX series.
Applicability Test:
The surface should be checked with a finger test. If the adhesive sticks to the finger, application can continue. If it does not, the surface should be scraped and fresh mortar should be applied.
Consumption
Consumption varies depending on the thickness of the ceramic notched trowel and is approximately:
3.5–7 kg/m²
