Merks Bituma 1-K
Merks Bituma 1-K is a single-component, ready-to-use, elastic, and waterproof liquid waterproofing material. Thanks to its bitumen, polymer, and rubber-modified formulation, it provides reliable and long-lasting waterproofing for reinforced concrete surfaces in contact with soil. Its water-based and solvent-free composition maintains flexibility even at low temperatures and protects structural elements by bridging shrinkage cracks.

Surface Preparation
- Surfaces must be free from oil, dirt, rust, and loose particles.
- If necessary, surfaces can be cleaned using a water jet.
- Large cracks and tie-rod holes should be repaired using Merks Repair Plus repair mortars.
- Corner joints should be chamfered before application.
Application Method
- Stir the product thoroughly before use.
- It can be applied using a brush, roller, or airless spray machine.
- For effective waterproofing performance, two coats with a total thickness of approximately 1 mm are generally recommended.
- The second coat should be applied perpendicular (90°) to the first coat.
Consumption: Varies depending on substrate condition and application thickness; approximately 1 mm thickness is generally targeted.

Important Notes
- Apply only on surfaces exposed to positive water pressure.
- Ambient temperature should be above +5°C during application.
- The second coat must be applied at a 90° angle to the first coat.
- The product must be protected from freezing; frozen material should not be used after thawing.
- In foundation wall applications, the membrane should be protected with XPS insulation boards and drainage boards.
- Not suitable for water tanks or swimming pool waterproofing (Sealmax series products are recommended).
- Clean all tools with water immediately after use.
