Merks Sealmax CB 504 Full Elastic | Cement & Acrylic Based Waterproofing Membrane

Merks Sealmax CB 504 Full Elastic: High-Performance Waterproofing for Critical Applications

Merks Sealmax CB 504 Full Elastic is a two-component, highly flexible waterproofing membrane formulated with special cementitious binders, polymer-modified additives, and liquid acrylic polymers. Designed to provide superior adhesion and long-lasting waterproof protection, it can be applied safely on a wide variety of construction surfaces.

Its fully elastic structure allows the membrane to accommodate substrate movement while maintaining waterproof integrity. The product is also approved for applications involving contact with potable water.

Key Features

  • Two-component waterproofing system
  • Cement and acrylic polymer-based formulation
  • Full elastic performance
  • Excellent adhesion to mineral substrates
  • Suitable for horizontal and vertical surfaces
  • Compatible with potable water applications
  • Can be applied by brush, roller, or thin trowel
  • Paintable after curing
  • Crack-bridging capability
  • Long-term waterproof protection

Areas of Application

Merks Sealmax CB 504 Full Elastic is recommended for:

  • Bathrooms, showers, toilets, and wet rooms
  • Roofs, terraces, and balconies beneath protective coverings
  • Swimming pools and decorative pools
  • Potable water tanks
  • Planters and flower beds
  • Concrete structures exposed to water pressure
  • Interior and exterior waterproofing applications

Advantages

Superior Flexibility

The fully elastic structure absorbs minor substrate movements and reduces the risk of waterproofing failure caused by cracking.

Excellent Adhesion

Provides strong bonding to concrete, cement-based renders, masonry, and similar mineral surfaces.

Potable Water Approved

Suitable for applications involving contact with drinking water.

Easy Application

Can be applied using standard waterproofing tools such as brushes, rollers, and trowels.

Ready-Mix Components

Powder and liquid components are supplied in pre-measured ratios, eliminating the need for additional water.

Surface Preparation

Before application, surfaces must be:

  • Structurally sound and fully cured
  • Clean and free from dust, oil, grease, rust, and loose particles
  • Repaired where necessary using Merks Repair Plus repair mortars

Large cracks, tie-rod holes, and damaged areas should be repaired prior to waterproofing. The substrate should be lightly dampened before application and protected from direct sunlight. Corners, joints, and pipe penetrations should be reinforced using Merks Bandix corner tape together with Merks Sealmax CB 504 Full Elastic.

Mixing Instructions

  1. Shake Component B thoroughly and pour it into a clean container.
  2. Slowly add Component A while mixing with a low-speed drill mixer.
  3. Continue mixing until a homogeneous, lump-free consistency is obtained.
  4. Allow the mixture to rest for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Mix again for approximately 30 seconds before application.

The prepared material should be used within 30–40 minutes at 20°C.

Application Procedure

First Coat

Apply the first coat onto the dampened surface using a stiff brush in a single direction. Allow it to dry sufficiently before applying the next coat.

Second Coat

Apply the second coat perpendicular to the first coat to ensure complete coverage and uniform waterproofing performance.

Additional Coats

For structures exposed to high water pressure, three to four coats may be applied depending on project requirements.

Consumption

  • Approx. 1.5 kg/m² per coat
  • Recommended minimum application: 2 coats
  • Standard waterproofing system: 3–3.5 kg/m²
  • High water pressure areas: 4–5 kg/m² (3–4 coats)
