What is SikaSeal® Crystal SG?

SikaSeal® Crystal SG is a single-component, cement-based crystalline waterproofing material containing special chemical additives.

The product penetrates into concrete and forms a crystalline structure within capillary pores, providing permanent waterproofing performance. Its ability to be applied from both negative and positive sides makes it an effective solution for challenging waterproofing requirements.

SikaSeal® Crystal SG is widely preferred for professional and long-lasting waterproofing protection in areas exposed to intense water penetration, such as basements, tunnels, elevator pits, water tanks, and underground structures.

Application Steps

1. Surface Preparation

Before application:

• Remove dirt, oil, paint, and weak particles.
• Mechanically roughen the concrete surface.
• Saturate the concrete with water before application.

2. Mixing Preparation

• Mix 25 kg of product with approximately 8 liters of water.
• Mix with a low-speed mixer for around 4 minutes.
• Allow the mixture to rest for 3–4 minutes before application.

3. Application

• Apply two coats using a brush.
• Allow approximately 12 hours between coats.
• Do not add water to hardened mortar.

4. Protection and Curing

• Maintain moist curing for 5 days.
• For pedestrian traffic areas, a protective screed layer is recommended.
