SikaTop® Seal-107 Elastic | Cement-Based Flexible Waterproofing Material

What is SikaTop® Seal-107 Elastic?

SikaTop® Seal-107 Elastic is a two-component, cement-based flexible waterproofing and damp-proofing material reinforced with liquid polymers and special additives.

It is designed to provide waterproofing performance on mineral-based surfaces such as concrete, plaster, cement mortar, brick, and block walls. The product offers a reliable and long-lasting waterproofing solution for both new construction projects and renovation applications.

Thanks to its elastic structure, SikaTop® Seal-107 Elastic helps bridge static hairline cracks and provides effective waterproofing performance in foundations, basements, bathrooms, showers, terraces, and other wet areas.

Application Areas

1. Waterproofing and Damp-Proofing of Mineral Surfaces

Suitable surfaces include:

  • Concrete surfaces
  • Cement-based plasters
  • Brick and block walls

2. Foundation and Basement Waterproofing

Provides protection against moisture penetration and water ingress in underground structures.

3. Protection Against Freeze-Thaw Cycles and De-Icing Salts

Creates a protective layer on concrete surfaces, helping improve durability against environmental effects.

4. Waterproofing of Fine Static Cracks

Its flexible structure helps prevent water penetration through capillary and non-moving cracks.

5. Wet Area Applications

Suitable for:

  • Bathrooms and shower areas
  • Terraces and balconies
  • Swimming pool surroundings

It can also be used as waterproofing beneath ceramic tile applications.

6. Filling of Pores and Voids

The product has suitable properties for filling surface pores and small voids.

Curing

After application, moisture loss should be prevented and proper curing methods should be applied for 3–5 days.

Application Steps

1. Surface Preparation

The surface must be prepared properly before application:

  • Remove weak particles, oil, grease, and cement laitance.
  • The surface should be saturated but free from surface water film.
  • Concrete tensile strength should be at least 1.0 N/mm².

2. Mixing

  • Shake Component A before use.
  • Pour half of Component A into the mixing container.
  • Add Component B and mix properly.
  • Add the remaining Component A and continue mixing for approximately 3 minutes.

3. Application

Fluid Consistency

  • Apply with a stiff brush or spray equipment in one direction.
  • Apply the second coat perpendicular to the first coat.

Plastic Consistency

  • Reduce Component A by approximately 20%.
  • Apply using a trowel for a smoother finish.

4. Curing

  • Prevent moisture loss for at least 3–5 days.
  • Protect the surface from rain and freezing conditions.

Important Application Considerations

  • The product is not a decorative coating; color variations may occur.
  • Avoid application under direct sunlight or strong wind.
  • Do not exceed the recommended layer thickness.
  • For effective waterproofing performance, at least two coats with a total thickness of 1.5–2.0 mm are recommended.
  • Three coats may be required in areas exposed to high water pressure.
  • Protect from freezing conditions.
  • The surface is not suitable for direct pedestrian traffic.
  • Fixing anchors should not damage the waterproofing layer.
