Weberdry SS-10
Waterproofing is one of the most critical factors in ensuring the durability and safety of buildings. In areas exposed to constant moisture and significant temperature fluctuations, waterproofing materials must offer flexibility, durability, and long-term reliability.
Weberdry SS-10 is a fully flexible waterproofing mortar developed for demanding conditions, providing effective waterproof protection in both interior and exterior applications.
What is Weberdry SS-10?
Weberdry SS-10 is a polymer-modified, cement-based, two-component waterproofing mortar classified as CMO2P. It is specifically designed for environments exposed to extreme temperature variations and continuous moisture.
Key Features
- Complies with TS EN 14891
- Crack-bridging capability at temperatures as low as -20°C
- Resistant to chlorinated water
- Suitable for contact with drinking water according to BS 6920
- High-performance fully flexible waterproofing system
Advantages
- Excellent flexibility and resistance to temperature changes
- Suitable for wet rooms, terraces, swimming pools, and water tanks
- Can be tiled over with ceramic and similar finishes
- Approved for areas in contact with drinking water
- Easy and controlled application
- High-performance two-component formulation
Applications
Weberdry SS-10 can be used in both interior and exterior environments, including:
- Balconies
- Bathrooms and toilets
- Kitchens
- Terraces
- Swimming pools
- Water tanks
It is ideal as an under-tile waterproofing membrane in these applications.
Suitable Substrates
- Cement-based renders and screeds
- Fair-faced concrete surfaces
- Existing ceramic tiles (with suitable primer)
Note: Technical evaluation is recommended before application on other substrate types.
Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is essential for a successful waterproofing system.
- The substrate must be clean, sound, smooth, and damp.
- Major surface defects should be repaired with a suitable repair mortar at least 24 hours before application.
- Chamfers or fillets should be formed at internal corners and wall-floor junctions.
- Highly porous surfaces should be pre-dampened with water before application.
Application Instructions
Mixing
- Slowly add the 20 kg powder component into the 10 kg liquid component.
- Mix using a low-speed mixer for 2–3 minutes.
- Allow the mixture to rest for 2 minutes, then remix before application.
Application
- Apply using a brush or trowel.
- Apply a minimum of two coats.
- Each coat should be applied perpendicular to the previous one.
- Allow at least 5 hours between coats.
Consumption
- Approximately 3.0–3.5 kg/m² for a total application thickness of 2 mm
Technical Performance Properties
| Property | Value |
|---|
| Bond Strength | ≥ 0.50 N/mm² |
| Crack Bridging (+20°C) | ≥ 1.50 mm |
| Crack Bridging (-20°C) | ≥ 1.00 mm |
| Capillary Water Absorption | ≤ 0.10 kg/m²·h⁰·⁵ |
| Waterproofing Performance | High |
Important Considerations
- Not suitable for wood, metal, or plywood substrates
- Not designed for negative-side water pressure applications
- Should not be exposed to direct sunlight during curing
- Do not add water or foreign materials to the mix
- Waterproofing tapes should be used at expansion and movement joints
