Weberprim EP 2K – Two-Component Epoxy Primer
Weberprim EP 2K is a water-based, transparent, rigid, two-component epoxy primer designed for professional surface preparation prior to waterproofing applications. It provides excellent adhesion on both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates, creating a reliable bonding layer for polyurethane waterproofing systems, sealants, and general waterproofing applications. Its ability to be applied on damp concrete surfaces makes it an outstanding choice among high-performance primers.
Key Advantages
- Excellent adhesion on absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces
- Suitable for polyurethane applications on damp concrete substrates
- Can be diluted with water for viscosity adjustment
- Resistant to various chemicals
- Reliable intermediate layer for polyurethane waterproofing systems
- Easy application with roller or brush
- Suitable for demanding waterproofing projects
Application Areas
Weberprim EP 2K is recommended for:
- Priming before polyurethane waterproofing applications
- Surface preparation before polyurethane sealant applications
- General waterproofing systems
- Critical areas requiring high adhesion performance, especially on damp surfaces
Suitable Substrates
Interior Floor Applications
- Glass
- Metal
- Existing ceramic tiles
- Bituminous surfaces
- Acrylic coatings
Mineral-Based Surfaces
- Cement-based smooth surfaces
- Screeds and renders
- Exposed concrete
- Wooden surfaces
For other substrates, technical consultation is recommended before application.
Surface Preparation
- The substrate must be clean, sound, smooth, and structurally stable
- Remove all contaminants that may affect adhesion using mechanical methods
- Uneven surfaces should be repaired with suitable weber.rep repair mortars
- Weak or loose sections must be removed before application
- Ensure the surface is free from dust, grease, and loose particles
Application Conditions
- Surface and ambient temperature: +5°C to +35°C
- Do not apply on extremely hot, highly humid, or freezing surfaces
- Do not use on frozen substrates
- Ensure adequate ventilation during application
Application Instructions
Mixing
- Mix Component A and Component B together for 3–4 minutes using a low-speed mixer
- Ensure material on the sides and bottom of the container is fully incorporated
Dilution
- If necessary, up to 20% clean water may be added to adjust consistency
Application
- Apply with a roller or brush in one or two coats
- Apply evenly across the entire surface
Polyurethane Application
- Polyurethane waterproofing products should be applied 6–10 hours after priming, while the primer surface remains slightly tacky
- Maximum waiting time between primer and coating applications is 24 hours
Consumption
- Approximately 100–200 g/m²
- Depending on substrate absorbency and the number of coats applied
