Surface Preparation
- Joints must be clean and dry.
- Cement residue, oil, paint, and adhesive contaminants must be completely removed.
- Non-porous surfaces should be free from coatings; if necessary, clean with cellulosic thinner.
- Metal surfaces should be treated with an anti-corrosion primer.
- Masking tape may be used to achieve clean and sharp joint edges.
Application Conditions
- Surface and ambient temperature: +5°C to +35°C
- Do not apply in extremely hot or humid weather conditions.
- Do not apply on frozen surfaces or where there is a risk of freezing.
Application Instructions
- Apply the silicone so that it fully contacts both sides of the joint and the polyethylene backer rod.
- Apply continuously and evenly while keeping the cartridge nozzle inside the joint.
- Apply in a single layer; overlapping applications should be avoided.
- Remove any trapped air bubbles during finishing.
- The surface can be smoothed using a tool moistened with soapy water.
- Remove masking tape before the sealant cures.
- Moisture is required for curing; therefore, it should not be used in airtight environments.
- Clean application tools with acetone immediately after use.
