WEBER PU FLOW 110 | Polyurethane-Based Cold-Applied Horizontal Joint Sealant

Weber PU Flow 110

As defined in the technical data sheet, Weber PU Flow 110 is a polyurethane-based, two-component, chemically curing joint sealant enhanced with coal tar additives. It is designed for heavy-duty and high-traffic conditions, offers UV resistance, and is specifically formulated for horizontal applications. The product features a self-leveling consistency and excellent resistance to dynamic joint movements, making it ideal for outdoor horizontal joints where practical and reliable performance is required.

Advantages

  • Suitable for heavy-duty service and high-traffic environments
  • Self-leveling consistency for easy application on horizontal surfaces
  • Very high abrasion resistance and adhesion strength
  • Resistant to dynamic movements
  • Superior adhesion in asphalt-to-concrete and asphalt-to-asphalt joints
  • Resistant to fuels, oils, and chemicals
  • UV-resistant for outdoor applications

These advantages make the product particularly suitable for areas exposed to intense traffic, harsh weather conditions, and chemical exposure.

Areas of Use

  • Parking areas, cargo terminals, bridges, and roadways
  • Expansion joints requiring high flexibility
  • Asphalt-to-concrete and asphalt-to-asphalt joints
  • Crack repair and joint sealing in horizontal surfaces

Thanks to its polyurethane binder, the product provides a durable and flexible seal capable of accommodating movement in horizontal joints.

Suitable Substrates

  • Bare concrete
  • Cement-based renders and screeds
  • Metal
  • Asphalt

For other substrates, consultation with the manufacturer's technical support team is recommended before application.

Joint Design and Surface Preparation

Joint Width and Depth

  • Joint width must be at least four times the anticipated movement and not less than 4 mm.

Recommended sealant depths:

  • Up to 15 mm width: sealant depth = joint width
  • 15–25 mm width: sealant depth = 80% of joint width
  • Greater than 25 mm width: sealant depth = 25 mm

Surface Preparation

  • Joints must be clean, dry, free from oil, and free from old sealant residues.
  • Damaged edges should be repaired and external corners rounded.
  • A backer rod or backing material (closed-cell polyethylene foam) should be installed.

Primer Application

  • Priming the joint surfaces with weber.prim PU is recommended before applying Weber PU Flow 110.

Application Conditions

  • Surface and ambient temperature: +5°C to +30°C
  • Do not apply on damp surfaces, under extremely hot conditions, or where there is a risk of freezing.

Application Procedure

Mixing

  1. Mix Component A for 2–3 minutes using a low-speed mixer.
  2. Add Component B and continue mixing for an additional 3–5 minutes.
  3. Ensure a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  4. Avoid entrapping air during mixing.

Sealant Application

  • Pour the material into the joint without leaving voids or apply using a spatula.
  • Smooth the surface using a spatula as required.
  • Tools and equipment should be cleaned with synthetic thinner before the material hardens.
