Surface Preparation
- Joint surfaces must be clean and dry.
- Oil, grease, bitumen residues, and old sealant materials must be completely removed.
- Loose materials along joint edges should be removed, damaged areas repaired, and external corners rounded.
- Where joint profiles are to be installed, corners should remain square.
- Priming with weber.prim PS is recommended for horizontal joints.
- A closed-cell PE backer rod should be installed (diameter should be 10–25% larger than the joint width).
- Masking tape is recommended for decorative applications.
Application Conditions
- Surface and ambient temperature: +5°C to +30°C
- Do not apply on damp surfaces, in excessively hot conditions, or where there is a risk of freezing.
Application Procedure
Joint Dimensions
- Minimum joint width must be 6 mm and at least four times the anticipated joint movement.
Joint depth recommendations:
- Up to 15 mm width: sealant depth = joint width
- 15–25 mm width: sealant depth = 80% of joint width
- Over 25 mm width: sealant depth = 25 mm
Mixing
- Mix Component A for 2–3 minutes using a low-speed mixer.
- Add Component B and continue mixing for an additional 3–5 minutes.
- Ensure a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
- Do not use material that has exceeded its pot life.
Application into the Joint
- Pour the mixed material into the joint without leaving voids.
- If necessary, smooth the surface using a spatula.
Cleaning
- Tools and equipment should be cleaned with synthetic thinner before the material hardens.
