WEBER PRIM PU | Silane-Based Single-Component Surface Conditioner
WEBERPRIM PU
According to the technical data sheet, Weber.prim PU is a silane-based, single-component surface conditioner that does not form a film layer. The product has been specifically developed for coatings, joint sealants, and polymer-based finishing applications. It reacts chemically with the substrate to strengthen adhesion and provides maximum bond performance in joint sealing applications.
Advantages
- Does not form a film layer; transparent and non-staining.
- Excellent surface conditioning on concrete, wood, and fiberglass substrates.
- Chemically enhances adhesion.
- Suitable for newly cut joints.
- Allows fast application thanks to its short waiting time.
These advantages improve both labor efficiency and coating performance during application.
Areas of Use
- Concrete coatings
- Wooden surfaces
- Fiberglass surfaces
- Asphalt surfaces
- Consultation with the manufacturer is recommended for other substrates
Surface Preparation
- The substrate must be sound, clean, and dry.
- Oil, grease, paint, and loose particles must be removed.
- Contaminated concrete surfaces should be cleaned with appropriate chemicals and rinsed with detergent water.
Application Conditions
- Surface and ambient temperature: +5°C to +30°C
- Do not apply in excessively humid or extremely hot conditions.
- Do not apply on frozen surfaces or surfaces at risk of freezing within 24 hours.
Consumption
0.03 – 0.05 kg/m²
Consumption may vary depending on substrate conditions and application methods.
Application Steps
- Pour the product into a clean container.
- Apply continuously to the surface using a brush or roller.
- Depending on the substrate condition, apply 1–2 coats.
- In joint sealing applications, apply before installing the backer rod.
- Clean all tools immediately after application using a suitable solvent.
