Armacell’s ArmaGel DT, which incorporates aerogel technology, is now becoming more accessible in Türkiye following the strong interest it has gained abroad.
Aerogel is known as the lightest solid material in the world. It has an ultra-low density and a highly porous structure, often referred to as “frozen smoke” or “ghost gel.” Although it appears gel-like, it consists of an extensive porous network that makes it extremely lightweight.
First discovered in 1931 by Steven Kistler, aerogel is typically produced based on silicon dioxide (silica). One of its most remarkable properties is its extremely low thermal conductivity, which makes it an excellent insulation material against temperature changes. As a result, it is used in a wide range of applications, from space technology to sportswear. Aerogel also has potential applications in sound insulation, energy storage, drug delivery, water purification, and many other fields.
Aerogel technology can be highly effective for thermal insulation purposes. Armacell has developed the ArmaGel DT product to take advantage of this performance, offering extremely low thermal conductivity and excellent heat insulation capability.
Thanks to this property, thin layers or panels of ArmaGel DT can be used in buildings, industrial equipment, refrigeration systems, and various other applications.
Compared to traditional insulation materials, Armacell ArmaGel DT offers a much thinner and lighter structure while still providing high-level thermal insulation. This is particularly important in the construction industry, as it improves energy efficiency without reducing interior space.
