Experience and Established Habits Can Become Obstacles for Those Who Fail to Adapt
We have been going through a period that has transformed not only industries but also the people who make up those industries. It is a time in which long-established habits have been disrupted and daily life has changed dramatically. Naturally, the business world has also been deeply affected by this process. Along the way, we have all gained valuable experience in managing uncertainty while simultaneously coping with fear and concerns about the future.
One of humanity’s greatest advantages during this challenging period has been the technological progress achieved before the pandemic. Had we faced a similar global crisis just fifty years ago, the consequences would likely have been far more severe. Many of us still remember a time when having a telephone at home was uncommon and televisions were welcomed with excitement. Looking back at how far we have come, it is clear that technological advancement has fundamentally changed our lives.
The pandemic emerged during a period when competition in the global business environment was already becoming increasingly demanding. These conditions created unique challenges and opportunities both for Haydar Boz Insulation and for the insulation industry as a whole.
Since 1953, Haydar Boz has maintained its position as one of the sector’s leading companies by continuously adapting to change. In a country with a young and dynamic population, reaching the third generation while continuing to grow is only possible by embracing innovation. Guided by this philosophy, Haydar Boz had already adopted new technologies and digital communication tools as a core part of its corporate strategy long before the pandemic began.
The insulation sector remains highly labor-intensive, particularly in application and installation processes. As a company that becomes involved in projects from their earliest stages, much of our work depends on skilled human resources. At the same time, we actively benefit from technological advancements in every tool and system we use. Our teams are always eager to learn about new materials, application techniques, and global industry developments, ensuring that innovation is continuously reflected in our work.
Departments outside of field operations had already begun their digital transformation journey years before the pandemic. This level of preparedness is largely thanks to our young and dynamic workforce and the forward-thinking leadership of our management team. The technological methodologies behind remote management and maintaining full visibility over business processes have been among our key priorities in recent years.
The investments we made in digitalization before the pandemic quickly demonstrated their value. Many of our flagship projects continued successfully throughout this period, proving that our preparation enabled us to adapt effectively to unprecedented circumstances. In many ways, this adaptability also reflects the resilience of the insulation industry as a whole.
Throughout the pandemic, we conducted nearly all of our business operations through digital platforms. We attended training programs, delivered educational sessions, participated in meetings, negotiated contracts, resolved technical challenges, and shared knowledge—all without physical interaction.
There is no denying that managing business processes through digital platforms offers significant advantages. It is more practical, more efficient, and often far more cost-effective. Meetings can now be held from any location with an internet connection, eliminating many of the challenges associated with travel and scheduling. These efficiencies are likely to remain an important part of business life even after the pandemic.
However, while embracing innovation, Haydar Boz remains deeply committed to its core values. Rooted in the traditions of Ahilik—a culture built upon friendship, trust, and solidarity—we continue to place great importance on human relationships. Although digitalization has delivered many benefits, including increased efficiency and broader market opportunities, it cannot fully replace genuine personal interaction.
As a company that values working side by side, sharing a conversation over a cup of coffee, and celebrating successes or supporting one another during difficult times, our greatest challenge during this period has been the absence of those personal connections. The warmth, sincerity, and sense of community that come from face-to-face interaction remain irreplaceable.
We all understand the positive impact that direct communication has on people. Physical proximity strengthens motivation, collaboration, and productivity within teams. While the pandemic has accelerated our digital capabilities and taught us new ways of working, it has not changed the fundamental nature of being human.
Although Haydar Boz successfully navigated this period, maintained business continuity, and sustained its growth momentum, we continue to look forward to the return of the sincere and personal interactions that have always been an essential part of our culture.
